WHAT-THE-HECK!?!?!? Wednesday

Holy Crapazoli!
This time next week I'll be in Texas!
YEEE HAWWWW!- Couldn't resist- and I can throw no stones- I was raised in Tennessee.
Maybe you saw me on the Bachelorette this week when they were in DollyWood!
A few friends were able to spot me-  I was the one in the back wearing the visor and the
fanny pack- hee hee

All kidding aside-
Aww who the heck am I kidding with the kidding?
Let's get this week's WTH Wednesday rolling!!!

I've been meaning to show you this one since Mother's Day
but it was totally buried under the junk on my desk
I have been so consumed with work....

THis is the Mother's Day Card that I recd from the Littles this year-
(Keep in mind that none of the aforementioned Littles can drive or have a job- so
one can only assume that the MR was completely responsible for the
choosing and purchasing of this card.)

I think they are making fun of me.
Aww...sweet.

I do not find the humor in me constantly repeating myself.
OK, now they have gone too far- "all Blogged Out" by Overshare??!?!
What the Heck? Don't they know that if Mommy didn't sneak to the office for a bit everyday to stalk and post that she instead would be all over them??? They should be singing the praises of this lil blog rather than mocking it.
Father's Day is around the corner- he has his coming.

Speaking of the MR
What THE HECK has made him think this is funny?

This is what he sends me?
I worked hard all day trying to make up for what I slacked on there towards the end of the school year! I find that mildly insulting-
(The funny thing is, I was only inspired to clean after the internet went down for a bit this morning because they are working on some lines down the street.....hee hee) don't tell.

All is fair in love and war and scrabble- you have to be fair when you play scrabble- quit making that word "QUA" no one ever uses it and it is just for points!

I have a little bit of a payback.
We went downtown to get our pool passes today.
WHAT THE HECK WAS HE THINKING???

Oh, yes, that's real- she printed it and did not make him a new one. This is what I live with folks!!

He drives me crazy.

You know what else drives me crazy?
Going to SUPER WAL-MART (art art art)...echo
where they have 34 registers right up front and only 3 of them are  ever open.
That drives me NUTS!
Especially when one of those lanes is the self check-out-
Don't like it- someone always has to come over and key something in
and I say "Hey, I am supposed to be doing this by myself!" It's not Team Check out.
The other lane is always that strange older lady who is just like the Target Lady from SNL.
She wants to look at everything in your cart and make a comment. Then tell you that one of her
cats died and how she hasn't had a break in 3 hours-
"I DON'T CARE! JUST MAKE MY MILK GO 'BEEP' SO I CAN LEAVE!"

And you're thinking why don't you just go to the 20 items or less EXPRESS LANE?
Because (and yes I took a picture of them yesterday) these people are ALWAYS THERE!
WHy THE HECK are you in this line????
 You've seen this family.
OK, the dude in the front in the white Tshirt- he has already put in the 5 bags of stuff that the cashier has already scanned. The counter is full and there is still stuff in the cart!!!
Really? There are like 20 ears of corn in the cart- just with the corn you have hit your limit, little family-
either go talk to Cat Lady or scan it yourself- but you're holding me up!!!

And it wouldn't be a WTH Wednesday without checking in our our favorite little Eagle Family.

WHAT THE HECK is happening to them?
I'm worried.
The nest is not getting any bigger. They have no room to move around! Food looks scarce. No one looks happy.

Look, I  know I have said a few things about Mean Ol' Mama, but I don't want her heart to be broken. It just seems those overgrown babies have driven a wedge between her and the not that often present Dear Ol' Dad.

See, even the kids are trying to find ways to get away from each other......YOU KNOW THE OTHER TWO CAN STILL SEE YOU, RIGHT?  Do what's right, guys- go out- get a part time job- go off to birdie college- but you have to do something or Mama and Daddy are going to be splitsville and there's nothing worse than splitting the eaglets on the weekend!!!!

And my last WTH for the evening.

WHY THE HECK did I wait so long to get an iPhone??
I have had it for almost two weeks now-
and my favorite part? Not that I can check my email or google reader or message and face time with people-
Not because Siri is on standby ready to answer my questions. Not because it helps me text faster and seems to read my mind and type stuff in for me.
Nope none of those. They are all good reasons. But here is the reason I VERY BIG PUFFY HEART my iPhone:
It's a game. I love it. He is so cute and the only thing cuter than him is his girlfriend Miranda!

Miranda is the purple squirrel and she is quite an accomplishment if you can unlock her like me and my bud "M"- go "M"!
(and M if you are reading this or if anyone you know is reading this- let me just say it is worth holding out for the 10,000 coins so that you can get the gold coins to pop up in the upgrades- they are worth ten and make it go a little quicker for the other upgrades)

All right- I have plenty to be working on and it is only going to be today for a couple more hours- yikes- where the heck did the time go?

Hope you had a Wonderful Wednesday and that you look forward to a Thrilling Thursday!

I Pulled an All- NIghter! Was it Worth It? You Be the Judge!

Alrighta Rootie-

Let's play a game!

 The game is called-

Who didn't get any sleep last night?

Wait for it

Wait for it...

I HIT MY BUZZER FIRST!
IT WAS ME!
IT WAS ME!

I am a sleepy chick!

(I love this picture and I have been trying to figure out how to work it in for the last three months! BINGO!)

Although I am sure I ran  a close second with Jen R. - she was up too- but I am pretty sure she wasn't
crafting :(

I was though.
After I finished posting, I started gluing and cutting and pressing and gluing some more!
I think it turned out well!

First let me say that this project was brought to you by the letter P and the number 1.
P because I found the DIY "destructions" on Pinterest
and #1 because it only took about 1 hour to complete it!

Lucky for you, I took pictures:
The directions I had were for a set of drawers that were very similar- but not exactly the same.
So I will show you mine and then hers.

These are the two that I needed to "purti-fy".
I really needed to
concentrate on what was  inside of them,
but you know how I am.

First I was going to go with these colors, but then the brown didn't seem so cheery, so I decided that I had wasted 20 minutes and went on to pick a new set of colors.

This is the new set of colors.

Depending on what kind of drawers you have, you might have to do some measuring. I was lucky. I just put the sheet in, marked the top, and then cut it on my cutter.

I just took a coordinating color, folded a strip in half and then cut  it to make a scallop. Then I used it as a tracer.

Worked out well

I gooped up the inside of the drawer, right at the top, with the Modge Podge.

I have seen some who used the paintbrush- it was just easier to use my fingers.

I added the glue to the designed side of the scallop.

I lined it up at the top- the indention for pulling the drawer out is on the front so I didn't have to worry about cutting here.

I went ahead and poured some in the rest of the front and smushed it around.

A li'l dab'll do ya!

I put my large paper in- design down.

I added a little more glue and pressed it down.

Now the front of my drawers have this wide 2' strip over the handle. So I cut a piece about 5" so that it could go over the top.

It is added to the front, but then I smoothed it over the top and pressed it into the inside of the drawer.

I thought it would make it look a little cleaner.

So here are the first three drawers, It is a little hard to tell that it all coordinates because it is still gooey.

Now they are dry and glossy.

Here is one set.

The set on the right is the second one I did.The colors are all from the same pack- but I like how I did the one on the right better.
They don't match my classroom at all- so they will live in the office here at home- It was really pretty easy!
Here is the pin that inspired the madness at 1:30am- http://pinterest.com/pin/148759593911993219/
It comes from http://jen-simplyliving.blogspot.com/2011/02/plastic-drawer-mini-facelift.html.

And here is Truman at around 6am, trying to figure out the sun is up and why he hasn't gotten in the big warm bed yet. He was not a happy pup.

I was so disoriented by my lack of sleep that I called Chickadee home from her sleepover so that we could go to her ortho appt.
They have that cool "Check in" thing- they won't let you check in if you are more that 30 minutes early for an appt.
So she comes over and says "Mama (yes, she still calls me Mama) it says we are too early"
Uh oh. What is today? Oops.
"Oh, honey, I think your appt might be tomorrow!"
Low and behold- it is.
So I am going to sleep tonight so I can catch up on what day it is!!!

Tomorrow we are heading (to the ortho of course) and then to get our pool passes.
I have got to get some sun before my trip- I don't want Fred or Daphne to catch me in their ghost net when
I put my shorts on!

Have a great day tomorrow- where ever you are!

(Oh, and my Mother in Law ordered 12 cozies and I haven't even opened my shop yet!!!)

Coffee, Crafting, and Contests

(The alliteration in the title was for Ms Chrissy B- Holla!)

Yawn! Stretch! (Cue peaceful Music)

I am sooooo tired!
I worked soooo hard today.
Guess what I did-

NOTHING!!!

I mean, I took NOTHING to the EXTREME!!!
It was NOTHING times a MILLION KA-JILLION!

Seriously,
I got out of the bed at 6pm to start my day- no joke-
I did get up once to go and eat a bowl of cereal- but there was nothing except sports on the Tv
and all the Littles were occupied with something else-
so I figured that I was not needed and took off back to the back!

The downside of this is- it is 11:43pm and I am not in the least bit tired.
Nope.
Not even drowsy.
Of course I had lots of coffee after dinner-
because the Mr found this at the grocery store today-
Heaven in my cup? I'll take two, please!
Normally I am a mocha, sometimes pepperminty, every once in awhile rasberry-ey gal, but this is yummy and partially to blame for me blogging at midnight!

I have my bud here-
He's like me - "NO PICTURES PLEASE!" so he was hiding,
I thought the hiding was cute so I snapped a few more...
I think I made him mad:
He leaned up for a sec, gave me a dirty look, and then left- pardon me for wanting to capture your cuteness!

I am in the midst of making envelopes for all the centers I have acquired.

I am also going to take a break from that in a moment and try decoupaging the front of this sterilte rolly drawer- I will be sure to take pics and you will see if it works-
Sometimes i pin something because I think it is totally AWESOME and then I try it and it is not so AWESOME after all.
Not because the idea wasn't great,
I just didn't do a great job at it!
I have to remind myself that just because "cutesy chick" pinned it- doesn't mean she has done it yet-
I think everyone should have to pin their attempt at the stuff they pinned- then I wouldn't feel so bummed when
what i am working on turns into  a large pool of gooey gooness that can't be used for anything!
(that is when I go back and delete the pin......hee hee)

But rest assured, ladies, if I can do it- you can do it!
So we'll see!

Speaking of things I can do
(were we speaking of that? well we are now)

I think i am going to open an Etsy shop!
I have to wait though- because in a world.... (sounds like a movie trailer IN A WORLD......)
ahem... in a world where phonics can be tossed to the wayside- I am not exactly sure how to say it!
Know what I mean?
Is the e short? is it long?
How am I supposed to say it?

(There was once a first grader in our building named- and I am just repeating what I heard- I wasn't there-
Abcde- yes A-b-c-d-e-...it was pronounced Ab-sa-dee.....so you see my trepidation when trying to say the name of the shop)

Anyhoo- remember these?

They are fun to make and they make me giggle- so I am thinking about selling them....to kick it off.....I might have to do a little give away...I am only a few followers away from 300........we'll see...

On other news-
Chickadee says  I should have a contest for my new do-
Since I am getting a blog makeover (in the works.....so excited)
I should makeover me too. (As long as the appointment gets made...ahem.... smiley face)

This is my canvas- what I have to work with-
these are looks I have had most recently
About three and a half years ago. I was very blonde
About two years ago- the MR called it my Captain Hook Days (natural color)
about 2 months ago at Easter (natural color)
I can't make it longer, without extensions- probably not going to happen-
but I can always change color and cut  and I have always had the attitude that "It's just hair- it will grow back"

I hope everyone had a wonderful Monday and if you are heading back to work tomorrow (with or without) sweeties- I hope your day is a grand one~ !

Come and Get It!!!!

Happy Sunday!
Is it Sunday?
How long have I been out of school?
Am I out?
Where am I?

Aye ye ye...What a whirlwind when school first lets out-

I was sleeping- VERY SOUNDLY this afternoon morning when the MR bursts into the room
like Kramer and yells-

"Man! How do you do it?!?!?!"
(Do what? Crap! Am I eating in my sleep again?)

" It must be awesome to be able to sleep in like that!!"
(Must be, don't know, I'M NOT SLEEPING ANYMORE!)

"Hey, your phone is going off like crazy so I brought it to you!"
(I know everyone you know - if it was an emergency- we would know by now.
But thanks for bringing it to me......that was sarcasm)

SO that was how my day started.
I drank a pot of coffee- no lie- the whole pot-
Then I ended up on Tpt (BIG MISTAKE)
I did get a few things that were in my wishlist

Anyone know a great deal on Epson 124 or 126 ink??? Office Depot and Wal-Mart are robbing me blind!
And the price of laminating pouches went up at Sam's! Any deals out there on those?

Speaking of great Deals-
Know how I have that Freebie Page on my blog?-
right up there

Well now everything that is on there is in my Tpt Store.
Everything that is in there is still a freebie.
I have to organize all of my goodies and see what I need before I start trying to make things of my own.
I just can't put my brain in gear to create  a unit when I see that Jen R or Reagan or Melissa has already done it and I just have to click, pay, print and VIOLA it's done!

I have created a few things- they are helpful to me-
if you would like them
here they are: Click on any pic to take you to my store

I think I am going to reprint them on a  different scrap paper and get some of that cutesy duct tape.

This way of organizing my class library has proved to be very efficient! It is simple. Simple to set up. Simple for them to choose books. Simple for them to replace books....just simple simple simple....did i mention simple? A description of how I use it is in store description and also on a post here somewhere.
Used these a lot this year.
I had them in a center , they chose to complete at least 1out of 3.
I had them in sub plans for time fillers, and I made some copies of them for students who were going out of town
that way they had daily practice.
I was VERY inspired by Mel at her Seusstastic blog- she has a great set of colorful reward tickets.
Unfortunately, I do not have free access to a color printer- so these are black and white
and best of all-
they are 2 inches by 2 inches- so instead of laminating- used packing tape- can't tell and much cheaper!
These are great!
My little ones taught their families and animals some of the lingo from these posters- it was great to hear them!

So head on over to my Tpt- yes that is me as a Little Squirrel in the pic- and get what you need or like.
Maybe once I have accomplished some of the things from the list I posted yesterday- I will venture out to make other things.

Enjoy your Memorial Day with Friends and Family:)

Mayday! Mayday! Squirrel Down!

Oh good gravy!  Fcrr has wonderful resources- I should know-

Here we go-
1. Brought these shelves home to hopefully put some things in order in here.
2. This is the laminator that I am in love with.... (shhh don't tell the MR).
3. This is the printer that I am cheating on the laminator with (shhhh don't tell the laminator or the MR)
I spend more money on ink than the MR spent on my the whole time we were dating!!
4. Had to bring home the toolbox.
5. I am BINDERIZING this summer- this crate is full of files- most will be scanned and the paper thrown out- and craftivites/lessons will go in monthly binders.
6. Several centers that have already been set up the way I learned from Miss Leslie Ann.
7. A tote full of more centers.
8 and 9. Two sets of rolly drawers for finished products- I am also going to decoupage the fronts.
10. Literature stacker for dividing paper, card stock, envelopes, laminate pouches, etc.
11. A random box of crap that was on my desk.
12. There are several binders below that 12. I am not sure what is going to be the ideal size for binderizing- so I have to check that out.
and finally
13. Bankers Boxes- there are about 30 of them that are broken down outside of this shot. When it comes time to divy out what is in those files I need to have an easy way to separate them. So I will label banker's boxes by month.

SO if someone gives you the whole "I wish I had summers off" comment- first- poke them in the eye, you have my permission- second- give them the link to this post:)
and if you need to make  a quick getaway- poke them in the other eye:)

Truman's Story
I do enjoy being able to work at my own pace though-
it gives me time to do things, then do them over, then decide that I like the first time better, then figure out that both ways were stupid and start all over again!
I just don't have that kind of time during the school year!!!

I only have 11 days until my trip!!!!
Yippee!
But it is really 10, because that 11th day is the day I fly out- can't count that one.
Now that I think about it , it is only 9 days because you can't count tomorrow either
Crap, now it's 8 days- I have a "thing" on Tuesday

It will be here before I know it!!!
I leave you with my favorite Pin of the day:

Wait- speaking of Pins- the crayon thing has brought 2,244 people to my little blog!! A few decided to stay awhile and look around- for which I am very thankful. I am glad that I was able to share something that others find helpful/useful- Heaven knows the Squirrel Room has been brought to you by blog ideas and Tpt purchases this year! I am so glad I have found you all!

Click the Pin to take you to her fabulous blog!
