Please Tell Me I'm Not the Only One!

Are we all at this point?
Please tell me that your classroom has invaded your home, too!?!
I have so much to do- and no direction-
seriously
none.

First let's address the obvious chore ahead of me-
cutting out that pathway of lamination that is consuming our living room.

My alphabet cards could not be cuter!!! ( thanks to Katie from Queen of the First Grade Jungle)

(Those pennants spell Word Wall- except mine is Word All- because I have apparently lost a "W" somewhere.)

There is also an arrow pointing to the laundry that is not being done because of all this other stuff.

I still have three sets of shelving to paint black.

I have to paint this black still- I am going to use clear shoebox containers instead of the colored bins (i think).
These cups still have to be labeled. (Ya'll are going to love the post on these cups!!)
This glittery foam will become some sort of cutie patootie shape to bridge a gap in my board corners.
See the gaps in the corners? I made the border with material (much cheaper than ribbon)!!!

Just ironed the sides...
and I was able to staple it on the board over the pink material.
I bought the "paisley" material today- I am thinking curtains for back door...

Containers for white rice- I still have to type alphabet and K sight words to put inside. Darn you, Reagan!

And even though I have all of this to do- what did I do instead?
I "bedazzled" my toolbox...see the little rhinestones....

(Totally not related) Ya'll are probably wondering what is up with the Santa on the door!?!?!
It's a looonnnnng running joke in our family- he has been up there, going on three years.
He got overlooked when we were putting away decorations one Christmas...
and now the MR and the Littles AND the neighbor's children make it a point to position
him in different ways.
If you will scroll back up, you will notice that he is covering himself-
The "ta tas" that he is covering are supposed to be his buttons. The whole family is warped!

Tomorrow there is a meeting and then someone has to light a fire under me!!
Parents will be in my room Monday evening!!!!

Wish me Luck!

  5. My house looks like that too. Hubby is not all happy I can spend so much time on school and not our home :( Santa makes me laugh - we still have the "count down" Bell with 3 links left from when my daughter made it in kindergarten hanging from the cabinets in the kitchen..... she's going into 7th grade! It is so sweet - I can't "demote" it by taking it down! My goal was to get the big projects OUT OF THE HOUSE by this weekend! Good luck

  13. Mine hasn't overrun quite yet since I just got done teaching summer school and have been on "rest duty" this week after surgery. I have lots of crafts I plan to work on though and I'm sure my office area in the upstairs half of my house will soon look quite like your picture :)

  14. Girl, I am pinning this ribbon idea for the bulletin board. Duh! Why haven't I thought of that? Smart, just stinkin' smart. Once I pin it, then I can officially say that Pinterest threw up some more in my room.

I want to live next to you so that I can see what Santa does next.

Have a great weekend. I hope you can get everything finished :)

Ahhh... My Dear Squirrels... You should get some kind of award for making the world a better place!
My cheeks are hurting from smiling and chuckling.
    And it wasn't even Wednesday!

  17. Water Bottles - duh! I bought all the makings for shakers this summer, but couldn't find containers I liked. So sadly, I chalked it all up to lesson learned...'til I saw the water bottles. Now, I've got it!
Also, just visited your TPT store. I couldn't click "follow me" fast enough when I saw the mustache on the squirrel...still laughing!

  19. LOL - oh look we could almost pass you off as a homeschooler with all that school stuff in your house. Almost. :o)

Even though it's a lot of work, it's still fun getting ready for a new school year.

  21. You are cracking me up. I just bought a larger kitchen table a couple of weeks ago so that we could eat at our kitchen bar area. I keep telling myself to stop making things, but it's not sinking in!! Good luck Monday!!

  22. Oh my gosh, my house looks about the same, but I'm a pile girl! So, I have the kitchen table covered except a small spot for our toddler. The oversized chair is covered and now I'm taking over the kitchen countertop! My husband is not happy AT ALL! You say you have no direction, but you've made a to-do list here.

BTW, I teach 3rd grade & my classroom is pink and green too! I'm doing birds/butterflies/garden.

  23. I just came across your blog and I'm now one of your newest followers. Yes, oh yes... my house looks exactly the same way! If I've told my husband once, I've told him a hundred times "In our next house, I need an office." I wish I had a separate room to keep all of my stuff out that I'm working on without invading the living room and other open areas in our home. Ugh!
