My "Condition" and It's Causes

Hellllooooooo!
Where is summer going?!?
Normally I make it to at least the 4th of July before I start
complaining about how fast the summer was-
guess I am an "early blossomer" this year.

I don't know how well you keep track of me- but you may have noticed
I haven't posted since last week's

WHAT THE HECK Wednesday
(please say you noticed, it will make me
feel better)

One reason could be my LTT.
I was in a remission type stage,
but it has flared up again.
This time around it has been increasingly hard to deal with.

My symptoms have increased. It has been a rough couple of weeks.

For those of you who are not "medical- term" savvy
I will help you out.
LTT = Lack of Teachery Thoughts

I was diagnosed over the last winter break.
It went away once I started back in the New Year.

I expected it to return.
Of course it would.
Did you see all the stuff I brought home
to work on?
I have a whole summer full of projects- but my LTT gets in the way.

(kind of like that creepy blue robe with eyeballs in that medicine commercial)

The Teachery Thoughts are there.
I just avoid them.
I run from them.
I hide from them.

There are a few treatments I have tried.
I have tried committing to a time during each day to catch up on blogs.

I have set aside certain times to work on centers.

I have "Un-DVRed" several shows to get rid of the temptation-
but nothing is working.

As hard as I try,
I still can't get into the Teacher Mode right now.

I feel horrible when I log in to
Google Reader and there is this huge
list of blogs who are on it!! They are showing projects and
sharing classroom ideas.......

With the LTT taking over, I just don't have it in me-

I haven't even been on Pinterest  in a week!!!

I know,
it's bad.

Side Effects of having LTT include (but are not limited to):
wanting to go to the pool, laying out in the backyard, visiting with friends, bike riding with Littles, watching ID Discovery (terrible addiction there), reading on the couch, reading in the bed, napping on the couch, napping in the bed, closing the office door so that you cannot see what is in here waiting, watching movies with Chickadee,
and the list goes on...there are so many other distractions that I couldn't possibly name them all....but I might try- seeing as how it will get me out of the school work I am hiding from  :)

I will keep you updated on my condition:)

One thing that has not helped my LTT at all
is the opening of my Etsy Shop.
I have been a "little" occupied with that-

Feel free to check it out-
http://www.etsy.com/shop/MissSquirrelsShop
I  have been adding stuff everyday- I love playing with the colors!

A blog friend of ours is having a giveaway soon and she is giving away a few of them! BOLO for that!!!

Speaking of blogs- I am participating in the

this Saturday- and I have to put the finishing touches on my post that I am sending
to one of my partners-

I am hoping that my LTT will wane off some this week-
as we are on a HEAT ALERT for the next few days-
I figure if I am going to be in here
I should be getting some stuff done!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!!!

(If there are some others who are suffering from the same thing,
maybe we can create a support group) :)

  1. I LOVE it! I think I also suffer from LTT...not as bad this year, since I'm excited by my new job, but LTT definitely appears at Winter, February and April vacation! :)

I hope your LTT gets better soon.

  4. I feel like I'm getting a case of LTT too. I feel like I'm running out of things to blog about & share. I see LTT as a blessing though, because we should really be enjoying our summer, right!? I'm with Jen, I've been reading blogs constantly because of this storm called Debby sitting over us pouring down buckets of rain. I'd be happy to be a part of your support group. ;)

  5. I have LTT too! I keep reading all these blogs about people that are doing all these neat crafty things in their classrooms or for their classrooms... You know what I have done? Read 2 books (non-school related) and planned my soon to be 4 year old's birthday party. That is it! No school. I am on boycott.

  7. You're SUPPOSED to have LTT - it means you are enjoying your summer and will be refreshed, renewed, and re-teacherized once it's time to go back.

    Hugs!!!!

  12. I DID notice and I HAVE missed you.
But more than that, as Tara said, you scared me!

And then I second guessed myself and thought it had something to do with eagles or squirrels... or maybe he-who-shall-not-be-named (since he donned a copyright)

But LTT? Easy Peasy. I hear the symptoms do subside... eventually.
I think doubling your dose of Etsy might help.

  15. I was thinking about you just today.... and no its not because I saw a dead squirell (although I did see one the day AFTER that conversation, lol!) but because I was realizing I hadn't read anything for you since the Mr threatedned to copyright "The Mr." Anyways, LTT has be down too... I'm enjoying my fishing and relaxing way too much to do anything more than get crafty! Hopefully we will find a cure soon.

  16. You had me going for a second! So glad it isn't really something serious :) Your etsy store is fabulous! I thought of you while on my marriage retreat - saw something squirrely and you popped in my head! I also thought of you at Hastings yesterday when I saw a book on the clearance rack. "The Squirrel Wife", a modern fairy tale. It was actually a pretty good story, but a little high for my kinders. I totally have LTT too, but with tons of meds (coffee and chocolate) I am trying to tough through it and blog at least every other day. I am hoping your LTT lets up enough for What the Heck Wednesday though!

  17. Thank you for the giggles!!! I have been diagnosed as well...but mine is fear of having to be in the office while it is sun-shiny outside...hehehe

I will say you were missed...even though I was technically gone as well!! Glad you are back!

  18. LOL! Oh, LTT... I think it's a pandemic among quite a few of us right now! Embrace the LTT, do little bits, and your cure will be here in August... because then we'll have no choice! :)

  19. I noticed and really missed your posts! But I don't think its so very bad if you don't get anything teachery done this summer... enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
But, I have a little but, I was so glad to find a funny teacher blog by someone who writes all the time and now you get LTT and just don't!
Because I don't get out of school until the end of July, I was really sick this weak and (of course) went anyway to school. Your blog always chears me up. So keep enjoying and get over your LTT to post as well! That would be great!

    Many Thank yous from Germany!
